Care For The Pet’s Physical Needs
Below are just some of the responsibilities as a pet sitter has. Note this isn’t an exhaustive list but some of the basic needs that need to be attended to.
- Sitters will provide fresh water and food for the pets.
- If the pet needs medication, the sitter will administer it.
- They often will take the dog out to use the restroom.
- For animals that don’t go outside for the restroom, the sitter will clean up after them. They may need to clean a litter box or a cage.
- Sitters may need to do an exercise routine with the pets. Different animals will need different types of exercise.
- Some animals will need to be groomed.
- In an emergency, a pet sitter may need to bring the pet to the veterinarian’s office.
Care For The Pet’s Mental Needs
Sitters will use their knowledge of animal behavior to determine what the pets need.
