Luxury Destinations To See In 2018

During the recession, travel numbers flatlined. Many people waited to see what the economy was going to do before making travel plans. However, we will reveal what luxury destinations  the other half are visiting  in 2018

 

Vancovuer

Capilano Suspension Bridge

A popular destination for 2018 is Vancouver. Vancouver is home the world famous Capilano Suspension Bridge. This swinging bridge which allows you to walk 230’ (70 meters) above the beautiful Capilano River. The original bridge was built in 1889. It has been replaced many times since then, but the history and natural rain forest is thrilling. Vancouver has 18 luxury resort hotels that are rated five stars or more.

Umbria – Central Italy

The is no more beautiful place in the world than Umbria. Located in central Italy, the area has panoramic views of rolling hills, abundant with lush forests, beautiful mountains, and thin valleys.

Umbria is famous for its rich history and works of art. Of course, their authentic foods and delicious wines are never a disappointment. A speciality is Strangozzi pasta with local black truffle. People travel for miles around to experience the wonderful local menus.

While you are sure to soak in the local culture and learn of the diverse history of the region, you must experience the local folklore festivals. We encourage you to do your own research. However, we will mention some that we find most interesting.

Calendimaggio

This three-day festival begins on the first Tuesday in May.  This festival reflects the Assassin’s custom. In ancient times ladies and knights sang love serenades. The alleys are decorated with flowers, flags, and torches. The “Neighborhoods” in history challenged each other in a flag-waving contests and crossbow contests.

Santa Rita’s Celebration

Travel to the town of Cascia for an authentic and traditional Luminaria in remembrance of St. Rita. You will see thousands of torches along the streets, in fields, along the Corno River, and on buildings. This procession is in honor of the Saint’s life, and the route is where the traditional blessing of the roses takes place. This festival happens annually on May 21st and 22nd.

People who love to travel and see the hidden gems of the world that are not always first on the travel brochures prefer to create their own itinerary, They want to see the real people that enjoy cultures unlike their own.
